Anthony Miller is a slot receiver prospect who has a knack for finding the end zone. During his college career, Memphis looked to get the ball in Miller’s hands any way possible. This includes wide receiver screens and reverses.
Miller is a quick-twitch athlete who also has the shiftiness to make defenders miss. He is someone who can take a short pass and quickly turn it in to a big gain.
However, he is also very effective as a traditional receiver. Miller runs clean and crisp routes that help create separation. His routes feature good deception which keeps the defenders off balance. This combined with his quickness makes him a nightmare to cover.
Miller’s speed makes him a downfield threat as he is able to outpace defensive backs. He features excellent awareness to track the ball and run underneath the pass.
His body control and strong hands give Miller the ability to make some acrobatic catches. He is able to quickly adjust to poorly thrown balls and can pluck the ball from different angles. This makes Miller not only a big play threat but also a reliable target.
Despite his smaller stature, Miller plays with a lot of toughness. He is someone who will fight through contact to gain extra yards, box out defenders to win the ball and contribute as a run blocker.
Overall, he is a very strong prospect capable of providing big-plays at the next level. Miller should be mentioned in the same breath as the other highly rated receivers in the 2018 NFL Draft class. He legitimate has a chance to be one of the better playmaker in this group.
